The National Weather Service has a Winter Weather Advisory from 1am to 10am Sunday in the purple shaded areas, and a Special Weather Statement in the orange-ish shading:

SURFACE WEATHER CHART SUNDAY MORNING:

Rain may be mixed with sleet (ice pellets) ANYWHERE in the Metro Atlanta area as the precipitation starts in the wee hours of Sunday mainly after 2am but rain will be predominant for most of us, the exception in the mountains and our far north and east suburbs. But even in our far NE suburbs I am thinking only minor ice accumulation, if any, before a quick change to just rain.

However, just a glaze of ice on sidewalks, decks, cars, bridges, ramps and overpasses can be dangerous with a coating possible on trees and bridges, not enough for power concerns. As of now it looks to me like most of the ice will be in the NE Georgia mountains, NOT around Atlanta.

The caveat in a wedge pattern is always that the models lack the fine resolution to resolve the details in temperatures, and are usually too warm. SO, we will have to monitor for any changes for the worse especially in and near Pickens to Hall Counties and points North and East from there. Remember, my forecast on radio and online covers Atlanta not the mountains.
